The yellow dahlia in the,pot has come on fantastically, everything is fed with phostrogen.

One question though, the hydrangea has only produced on flower head this year, it's been in a pot and has been for a coupe of years, and previously as had quite a few flower heads. Why this year has t only produced the 1? I used to use miracle grow on it, but changed this year to phostrogen, has this got anything to do with it?

Your garden is a credit to you al n. Has that hydrangea been in the shade a bit too much? Not that there's been that much sun around.
Maybe you could forgive just one plant that isn't quite 100% !!

Thanks Jenny, nice of you to say so!

Had 2 failures so far, the 2 hollyhocks I planted have suffered so badly with rust. I've not that them before, so what's the best way to combat the rust?

Lovely garden, al, lots of colour and interest there. You're packing the borders with plants nicely.:snork: I don't think there's a lot of difference in the chemical make up of Miracle Grow and Phostrogen that would affect the flowering of the Hydrangea. You could try an extra feed of high potash using a Tomato Feed though. Does the Hydrangea like being in a container??? All the ones I have are in the ground and flower their heads off without the need to feed them, but container plants are much more dependent on watering and feeding.

One thing though............aren't you getting too big for that slide now???:nonofinger::scratch::snork:

The hydrangea is now in the shade, before it was on the front edge of the deck, so got sun from midday onwards.

Thanks armandii, the hydrangea was always in the pot. And come to think of it, I've only used tommy feed once this year, whereas previously used it all the time in the other house, mainly for the pots and hanging baskets.

........and your NEVER too big for a slide!!! :snork: :snork:

Thanks lolimac, I think I did make the right decision on painting the fences black. Really does make the plants stand out, the greens look so much greener, and the colours really pop :wub2:

Thanks FC, that's a great compliment :blue thumb: :blue thumb: :ThankYou:
