A Few Shots of Wells

Bit of an overcast day but a nice place anyway.



The West Front of the Cathedral. Behind the Statues there are narrow galeries with holes where the choir would sing out of on Holy days. So it seemed like the Statues were singing (Don't take your eyes of them, don't even blink)



the gatehouse is now part of an hotel, wouldn't it be cool to stay in the top room.

And another view of The Cathedral. See the Pinnacles on the top where the tree branch touches, i've been up there.

Is that gardening/organics shop still in Wells? The one on a corner with stained glass lights/canopy - been a while since I've been there.

 

Think thats a Cake shop now Scrunge, mind you, there are a few corners in Wells

 

Is that original stained/coloured glass canopy still there? And is my recollection correct that there was the original name of the premises written in the glass panels?

 

I would have noticed something like that if i'd been looking in the right direction, so I probably wasn't.

I did notice a faked up bulging window, seeing it that distorted I immediately looked up at the building to see what was putting the pressure on it.

Nothing, all done to give it fake "Olde Worlde"

Funny, I was thinking you'd like those pics when I took them. You might be interested to know that new carvings on the Cathedral tower are of "Cider Man" Mickey Mouse, the Road Runner & a Marijuanna Plant. Masons eh? Can't leave them on their own for a second

 

No i guess not.

 

I showed the picture of the gatehouse to Brad, and his response was....let me guess, you want to stay there too
