A frosty morning walk in belgium

i thought I'd share some photos of this morning's walk....it was beautiful!!
First thing this morning, and the sunlight starts to break out on the trees on the other side of our valley


The last few leaves in the woods as we walk up towards the plateau


Judging by the sniffing dogs, I guess the deer were here earlier!

The frost on the dying foliage was breathtaking


One of the local woods was "harvested" last month - the felled trees are waiting to be collected


A view across to Waterloo (to the left) and Braine l'Alleud to the right. A little too misty to make out the Bute du Lion....


Some of the locals, enjoying the morning sunshine at the watering hole...


Finally get back home, to see our little valley now bathed in morning sunlight - we will have to wait until after noon before the warmth of its rays touch our garden again...

Well, I certainly needed a cuppa to thaw out when I got home - it was -1c when I set out, about freezing when I got back. Still have bits of ice around the house, although officially the temperature rose to 6c....

 

Now that was a really nice set of photos Sian I do like a clear frosty morning - seems like your dogs love it as well !

Beautiful photos. I love the misty one, with the rolling fields.. it looks like a very hard ground frost there, maybe -7C on the surface soil .. it's that 'type' of frost.
