Hi,I've only been gardening a few years and would appreciate info on garden peas.My soil is very clayey,is that a word?,last year I grew an unkonwn pea variety in long flower troughs, bout 1m x 0.15 x 0.15 and had some success.

Can anyone recommend a good pea variety thats easy to grow and gives a good crop?

    Many thanks.

I've not grown peas for a few years now, but when I did it was always Hurst green shaft.

Kelvedon Wonder does well for me as does Early Onward. Alderman is a tall growing good cropping old fashioned variety with long pods and a good flavour.
