It's been a month since we last had an amble around the garden and things are changing. A lot of the early annuals, Forget-me-Nots, Honesty, etc, are fading and I'm replacing them with the plants from the seeds I sowed this year. So if you've got the time and the inclination, get that glass of wine and have a wander with me.

The Trellis Entrance to the garden as it looks this year:

This side has around 11 Clematis [I've lost count to be honest] in different stages of growth so there's a lot more different coloured flowers to come.

This is the inside of the other side of the entrance with around the same number but more mature Clematis growing up it.

This is one of my old and favourite climbing roses which some of you have already seen. I just love the way the flowers change colour as they get older.

The view from the Arbour, so have a sit and take a sip of that wine.

On the path leading to the Green House:

Paeonie "Sarah Bernhardt" coming into bud. There should be around 60 flowers so the show and scent will be as stunning as always.

This is the first real year for Paeonie "Karl Rosenfield" but it's doing well even though it has to compete with the rest of the border. I can't wait for that first flower!

My broken gate leading to the pond area, slowing falling apart!!

This is another favourite place to sit with a glass or two of wine. The bench is slowly disappearing under the Ivy and Clematis!

The pond as it looks at the moment with the plants getting into their stride. This is my first year with Frogs naturally introducing themselves into the pond and leaving spawn on the weeds. It's really busy now with loads of interesting insects, really peaceful and the sound of the waterfall will lull you to sleep!

    Irises and Roses
    [IMG]

The centre path has disappeared but I love walking down it getting brushed with foliage and scent.

Rose "Alchemist" which I planted alongside the Arbour with Honeysuckle while on the other side is planted Rose "Compassion" also with Honeysuckle in an attempt to get my version of the old English rose covered Arbour with all the colour and scents that go with it.

My Stone Bench underneath the Acer, with a pot I bought while at Shiney's magnificent "Open Day".

    Oriental Poppy Simbad
    [IMG]

And you know these from recent threads but still beautiful enough for a second look.

    Royal Wedding:

    And of course, Paty's Plum

and the Allium that appear dotted around:

Another pot I bought from Shiney which I placed by the pond edge.

It's starting to rain, back to the House!!

The rose, Val, is probably the oldest one I've got. I bought it over 25 years ago as a meagre sad looking dry root packaged plant from a Supermarket called Finefare.....for the princely sum of 50p.......and it's paid me back a thousand fold!

                      Climbing rose "Masquerade"

It's gone through all sorts of Winters and weather, and it's exposed to the North Wind which comes from behind the archway, so it's a pretty tough plant. I've had my monies worth out of it I reckon!!

I can never be bored with the garden no matter how many times I amble around it, [so I hope you will all forgive me for me keep asking you to walk around with me], stopping off at my sitting areas just to watch the birds and insects going about their business. By sitting in different areas for a few moments you suddenly get a different idea and view of what's happening and what needs tidying or pruning etc. I get such a feeling of peace watching it all grow, seeing the failures and the successes.......and you only know the successes by the warm feeling you get inside.

Gorgeous! I'd love my lupins to look like that (except I have a feeling that I have dwarf varieties), and I would loves some roses like yours too.

I can only hope that some of the talents of experts like you rub off on the likes of me. :)
