A member of the nettle family?

    This was given to us by some friends who didn't know the name and as we don't either, I am looking to you for help please.

    I checked today and it is as you said but I can't say the smell was aromatic. Thanks for the ID.

    Could it be Honesty which has a nettle type leaf

    Hi Seeker, Honesty appears to be Lunaria and this one has never developed the white "paper moons". We have both the white and purple Lunaria in our garden, they grow wild and somewhere different every year.

    Could it be Nepeta subsessilis? We have a pink form of it, but the original colour is blue.

    Hi Palustris, thanks but no, it is not Nepeta subsessilis. I did go through various links under this name and although the flowers look familiar, the leaves are different. It is definitly what PeterS said.
