Folly Mon sends his love and misses you. He has given me permission to tell you why he has been away (and probably will for some while).
One of his brothers has been awaiting an operation to correct a hiatus hernia: despite waiting for the past couple of months, the operation will not be carried out until next month due to complications with the lung, which has been partly crushed and the site being close to the heart. The operation will be performed by a Specialist, who won’t undertake the operation - until after his own holiday – due to the need to be available for potential complications. His brother has been told that he will not regain full use of his lung and such are the conditions of his particular case, his survival chances stand at 50/50.
His other brother (just two years older than FM) is also suffering: his immune system has collapsed and he has problems with his bowel and colon. “There is nothing they can do for him sadly just a matter of time”.
While all this has been on-going, his cousin (who emigrated just 10 months ago) died from a major stroke, aged 41 years old.
Gail’s family are not without troubles of their own: her sister-in-law has been diagnosed with cancer of the face and her mother has suffered a terrible accident in a shopping mall (someone ran onto the escalator behind her, knocking into her with enough force to send her flying down the length of the escalator).
I’m sure there are a number of us who will read this and can relate to a time in our own lives where we have experienced “cluster” crises and how demanding, draining and emotional they can be. These are FM’s cluster crises which are taking all his time, thoughts and energy.

Oh my goodness...it is unbelievable how life can treat someone as bad as this. What to say...I wish him the best but ,even that, may not be enough.

Ps thank you for the detailed report.

Oh no, this is awful. poor Nick and family. Its so unfair that worst luck always seems to come to the nicest people, or so it seems sometimes.

I know there's nothing practical any of us can do to help, but if we can make it known to him that we all care, maybe that might give him a bit of much needed strength.
