I have a corner near the french doors and would like to put a pot and plant something which grow nicely. I am thinking of a 3 ft high pot and put something in the middle and some plants which would hang.

Could somebody give me the names of the plants and also where will I be able to buy a decorative pot which would be about 12 inches wide and 3 foot high.

    Thanks

Hello, New! What direction do your french doors face? This would probably help in suggesting what type of plants would suit your large pot. Also, would you like something bushy or tall, flowering or non-flowering?

As for where to buy the pot, there must be loads of High Street type shops that sell miscellaneous items offering such as well as garden centres. Places I remember would be Wilkinsons, Buywise, Superbuys, possibly even Woolworth's - cheap and cheery shops I call them! [IMG]

Oh, I know what that is, BM, but don't remember, if you know what I mean ??? The name begins with a Z but it's not in my old houseplant book as it's a more modern plant (I do remember trying to look it up a few months ago)! They are selling them all over the place here at the moment.

This was very useful, wasn't it? :D

Hello, NEW! You could try the trendy ZZ plant above or any of the palms which are widely available. For colourful leaves, the Caladium is a beautiful plant. Schefflera (the Umbrella Tree) comes in a variegated form which is very attractive. The tall cane Begonias flower. All of these can be grown facing North avoiding direct sunlight. For colour at the base you could try a couple of trailing Begonias.
