Hi! I’ve come here hoping someone will be able to help. My gardening loving nan of 90 years old sadly passed away at the weekend. She adored her garden and spent every moment she could tending to it. I would love to read a poem at her funeral but am struggling to find something suitable. Any ideas? I love the sentiment of this “Her flowers still bloom, and the sun it still shines, But the rain is like tear drops for the ones left behind, The weeds lay waiting to take the garden's beauty away, But the beautiful memories of its keeper are in our hearts to stay” but it’s just too short - I’m not a fan of the entire poem. Can anyone suggest a non religious gardening/flower/cherry blossom related poem ?
Personally I like Kipling "The Glory of the Garden", but rather male orientated. You may find something here 8 Poems Inspired by the Beauty of Gardening - Read Poetry
