I have just acquired a newish push mower ,given to me by my American neighbours who have now gone back to the States.
It pushes so easily ,although I haven’t used it yet I have watched him use it and was very impressed it does have a canvas grass catcher ,uses no petrol makes very little noise ,is 18” wide.

Love it roders:). Looks real quality
A hand push for the smaller back lawn would be perfect

Similar design with six blades, made by Ransome, was called a rough-cut mower. Just a bit of useless information.

My first lawn mower was a push mower . I just remember it being really hard work to use.

I used to have a push lawn mower when I was about 4 years old. Somewhere there is a photo of me with it. If I look hard enough I might be able to find it.

Although I don't now have one I actually prefer push lawn mowers for smaller lawns, One problem I had and the reason I gave them up was even a small stone on the lawn could mess up the set of the blades and with young children around it became a chore.
Properly set they are a dream to use.

Like Scudo, I quite enjoyed a hand push mower for a small patch of grass at the very back of the garden. No noise, some exercise. Yes, it needs the blades set up right and to be as sharp as possible
I now use a cordless mower.....Not self propelled and prob the nearest to a hand push. Very quiet, very light and a brilliant little mower:)
