Popped over to Boulogne yesterday. Rolled up expecting to find cars parked in the square and found this instead! It's a potager garden with a difference - giant vegetable sculptures, jumbo garden tools and towering plant pots. If anyone else fancies a trip, the garden will be in place until November, when everything will be dismantled and the square will return to normal.

Thanks for the pics ClaraLou. Very charming.
I always think it's a shame when an something like that has to be dismantled at the end of the exhibition.

    Hi Alice, Strongy and Victoria

We had blazing sunshine in Northern France and arrived back to the usual overcast stuff! I hadn't been to Boulogne for quite a while and I thought it looked great. There were flowers everywhere, generally planted in a much 'looser' way than you'd find in the UK. There were lots of roadside plantings of verbena bonariensis, rudbeckia, statice and marigolds, - like this one, which is livening up a rather boring stretch of esplanade:-

How lovely! You certainly picked the right day to go over and see it.

As Alice said, it is a pity when it is all dismantled at the end of the exhibition. Still, that is at least running until November, so it is a good while. Longer than any shows run in our town.

    Thanks for sharing.

Another one to add to your list when you come over, Penny! If you stay in the South East it's pretty easy to do a quick hop over to France. You can get a direct ferry from Folkestone to Boulogne.
