I have a passion flower which is quite substantial (or should I say was?) It is the common blue flowered orangish yellow fruited variety.
It has been growing happily over a large trellis for at least 5 years and was obviously well established back then.
Last year it started shooting and then got hit by frost and died back, but it recovered. This year it got hit by frost twice after it had started shooting and now looks very dead, although some of the stems still have a greenish tinge. There are only 4 green leaves. What should I do? A heavy pruning, ignore and see if it survives, cut back everything except the 4 leaves?

Passion flowers are remarkibly resilliant. Cut off the dead bits, leave the green leaves and green stems, give it a feed, then sit back and wait - it'll be sprouting like mad once its had a couple of days sunshine!!!

I use pelleted chicken manure, and each spring, I dig over the borders, and dig a hanful in around each plant. [IMG]
