While sitting on the patio enjoying a cuppa I thought I saw a movement out of the corner of my eye. On investigating I discovered this little chap. He seemed very comfortable with us as long as we made no sudden movement even letting our son stroke him while he nibbled niger seed our son fed him. He hung about for around an hour.

I get these running around the garden Dave.
      Or are they something unusual?

I think they are nesting in couple of places, but they have never been a problem.
Not found one that tame yet.

Not all that unusal Pete, I see one two or three times a year in the garden. They normally vanish pdq when they see me but this one is I think a baby just left the nest and very hungry. Quite possibly one of the offspring of the one that spent part of winter nibbling the potatoes we had stored in the shed!

Oh dear! Sorry Vicky but you are about two hours too late. I posted the photos on Lucy's Facebook page and young Heidi's seen them and has already decided the mouse is called Heidi and she's coming here tomorrow hoping to be introduced.:)

We just couldn't believe how bold and unafraid the tiny creature was. It was a real joy to watch it feed in our son's hand.

They have the same effect on Heffalumps, so I wouldn't worry!

            I think it's a house mouse Harry but I'm not 100% certain.
