A special visitor to our town yesterday.

    On a beautiful Autumn day Her Majesty came to visit us to open the new Heritage Centre for horse racing and Sporting Art.
    Before that she unveiled a magnificent bronze statue depicting herself with a mare and foal celebrating her love for horses and her 90th.birthday.
    As you can imagine it was mahem with everyone trying to get a closer look.....
    All of the school children and thousands of other lined the streets and flag waving was the order of the day.

          You managed to get some good photo's of her @roders well done!!

          When I was growing up there was a recreation ground which I would pass on the way to and from school. It was there that the Royal Helicopter would land and it did mean that, over the years, we were able to see a few of the Royals arriving/departing. Wish I'd had a camera back then!
