A stormy day on the Dee estuary

    These photos are true to colour, I took them, because I was bewildered by the colour of the cloud coming in from the northwest. It was almost pitch black.. I had to run, to avoid being hit by a wall of violent winds and torrential hail.

        Thanks Jenny :-) it was around 2pm. It was a gust front, as soon as it hit the wind buffeted everything the hail came down in dense sheets, and it was almost like night.

            Im surprised you didn't see anything.. it looked like a spanned most of Merseyside it was a massive shower.

            Member on another forum said the Honey Buzzard was battered to death by golf ball sized hailstones a few days ago :sad:

            Scrungee, A well constructed photograph should have the scenery in thirds from top to bottom. I think Stephen has achieved that and if he'd had any more foreground it would have swallowed up the rest of the picture. :)

              Last August we were at Park Gate, it was hot and sunny and sat there with an ice cream, doesn't quite look the same!!! Superb shots Stephen.:dbgrtmb:

              Is he sure Zigs? Honey Buzzards are in Sub Sahara Africa now, perhaps he meant a Common Buzzard that likes honey!:smile:
