Just for a chuckle really but thought you'd all enjoy this. Having obtained my precious laptop, decided to get a proper mouse as the touch pad is not my cup o'tea! Well, it worked find for about three weeks but then the cursor stopped moving thought the light on the wand kept flickering. So I reinstalled the driver whereupon the mouse stopped working completely!! So I took it back to the shop (PC World) and handed it in as faulty. Got a new one and installed it - still not working.

Then I had a brainwave and READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!! It appeared that both mouse and wand have tuning buttons which, once dealt with, made the mouse work perfectly!!

Moral of this story - RTFM!! [IMG] [IMG]

It's a proverb in my family:
If all else fails, read the instructions :D :D :D

Yes, it does help. But sometimes they are written so unclearly that reading them a second time brings no clarity. Either that or I have one of my dense moments.

If I cannot do, or find some thing the advice is always.. Read the Help file... which I find no flipin help at all. In half an hour one to one and I have got it..help files Pah! even India at 50P a minute is more help

The "proverb" I always quoted when teaching IT was "If all else fails, read the destructions"

    Instruction manuals! Huh!

Have just been forced to buy a new telephone/answerphone as my previous one that I've had for about 10 years gave up on me. The new one is so much smaller, and the instruction manual is printed with such small icons I had to get a magnifying glass to see what's what!
I much preferred my old phone - seemed much simpler to use.

New are not always better are they?
