Today I found that one of the cones on my Abies Koreana was flaking - half had already dropped away - as I touched it I noticed little brown coloured seeds.

I collected the seeds and my question is has anybody grown this from seed before ? If so, I wonder how long they take to grow into little trees ? I assume they need sowing now (as they are dispersing by themselves) and would need 6 weeks stratification in the fridge ?

Thanks Longk - interesting the article says acid soil - mine is in a large pot in normal soil - I have had it over 10 years and obviously been lucky - every year it is top-dressed or potted up. Will feed with ericaceous stuff this year :ThankYou:

E2A - if anyone is interested in seeds - let me know - there is another cone with more still left.
