This is growing on my allotment, where its exposed to the north winds that we seem to have had so many of in recent months.
Last year it was in full flower, at this stage, on the 10 April, so its nearly three weeks later this year.

If my little seedlings get to that stage I will be amazed  How do I get them to kick into life Pete??...they are so small still.

Take it you've potted them up singley.
If so keep potting on as the roots fill the pots, dont let them stop moving.
That way they should be pretty big by the end of this summer.

I was a bit nervous moving them again. They seemed to stop growing after I potted them on and they are only an inch or so high!
They are under glass and I chat to them regularly ;) Anything else they might need?

No, perhaps a bit of patience, keep an eye on the pot bottom, when it looks full of roots, just knock them out and plant into a bigger pot, they wont know they've been moved.
Hope they are only in small pots at the moment, move them up slowly.

The nearest A Pravissima to me is only just coming in to flower but Dealbata and Baileyana have been late this year too. Come to that forsythia and even daffs were later as well, maybe the cold has held them back this year. [IMG]

I have a Delbata that I grew from seed, the silver wattle. Sadly there is no sign of new growth yet - so not sure if the cold winter has killed it. Scraping the bark at the base, looks alive. Any advise please?

Just wait and see Fran, thats about all you can do.
Around here we've had forsythia and tulips in flower at the same time as the oak trees buds are bursting.
Its as if the early movers have been held back, but the later ones are coming at the usual time.
In effect its all happening at once.

Young Dealbatas may have succumbed to the cold winter this year depending on how ripe the bark is, as Pete says wait and see but there ought to be some sign of life by now. [IMG]

Thanks - to both of you. I will wait and see. Hopefully there will be some sign of life soon.
