I just want a new fish tank for my betta , away from the cats ....
When I was young i used to help a friend of mine in his acquarium shop , you will not belive how much peoples are spending for that hobby , like every hobby in the world there are alway extremist.
you can spend up to £3.000 for a pair of those.

Spruce there is a secret behind that , my friend used to make some similar to those , it was taking him about a year , all the plants are planted in shallow water untill they spread .....many plants sold in acquatic center are actually not water plants , but simple border plants that can tollerate submertion for a period of 6/7 months.

I`m really try to remember the name of the technique , only seen on magazine about creating garden that will look like fish tank .

          Sal,

I am very big into my tropical fish too!

I actually don't like those japanese aquascapes. They take a lot of work-but where are the fish?!

My 550l tank has South American Cichlids which destroy most of the plants I put in.

Takashi Amano , apparently only use neon tetra , that means he use a really low PH , I think just for the sake of the plants .

South american cichlids , are huge , but not as vicious as the African Cichlids , better for color ...

I will stick with few bettas ....well one :blue thumb:, I`m only build a fishtank for plants ....rain water and low water level.

I can see few ramirezs and an angel fish , nice balance as many fish are south american ....it would have impossible to keep an african Cichlid in there , they would have killed all the other fish and eat all the plants .

those are the public anemy number one....the most aggressive of all

yes what I`m planning to build is a paludarium , but it will be a slow process as I ot limited budget and time .....
