    December 13-14

    [​IMG]The most reliable meteor shower of the year, the Geminids are characterized by their multi-colored display--65% being white, 26% yellow, and the remaining 9% blue, red and green.

    Moon will be First Quarter - so set by, what? 9PM?

    What time are the Geminids? Don't tell me I've got tog et up at 4am or somesuch? but if I will have to send me your number so I can phone you to remind you to get up also!

    Mr Kandy and I was just coming back from one of our evening walks last week when we had a starry sky when I spotted as I call them a shooting star,but by the time I had shouted to Mr Kandy it had gone so he missed it.:DI can only assume it was one of the Geminids that you are talking about:)

    Cheers for that link Kandy.

    Looks like we have conflicting info then. Ist site saying 13th-14th and Wicki saying 4th-7th.

    I' going out for a cigarette & to see if any drop on me.:hol:

    :dh: Forgot, we are surrounded by an etherial mist, only thing I could make out was Jupiter.:(

    Interesting that these meteors are our only shower of asteroidal debris instead of cometary. Good find Kandy:thumb:

    Hi Marley,

    Hope everything is ok ?

    Been looking out most nights, If you are standing facing the north star, gemini is at
    2 O'Clock very high in the sky.

    Seen 1 so far :dh: nowhere near it, due south & very low.

    Tonights the night &, sods law, its very very foggy here. Off to Dorset tommorow, might be clearer by the sea.
