Try next year getting a D.A.P. plug in, it's a dog appeasing pheramone difuser, it gives off the same pheramone as the mother would to calm her pups. It is also useful for long journeys if your dogs don't travel well, you can also get it in spray form.

Some Vets will also give out sedatives but it's not a route i would go down. They basically paralyse the poor animals so that they can't react although they are still totally aware of what is going on. Some larger breeds can have an adverse reaction to it and get a bit snappy too.

Another idea is to try 'pre-finding' a dark, warm spot such as a cupboard under the stairs and adding an item of your clothing to the bed. It works very well for some, 3 of mine prefer this method but the 4th gets rather stressed and just likes to be around me and sleeps with one of my old jumpers :D

    Just a thought.......

    Hi Linda,

You can get them at your local vet, if they don't have them in stock you can ask them to be rodered. But shop around, many veyerinary websites do them too, may be cheaper.

The general veterinary price is around £11.95, obviously they add a little on top.

PS Arnie says hi and the rest of the dogs want their pictures done :D
