    Hi,

I wondered if anyone can review my plans and let me know if Im heading in the right direction?

I have a small bit of land at the bottom of my garden and would like to do a mixture of veg and fruit, because of the shape of the plot and the fact that I have materials for raised beds I was going to do the following :-

3 x 1 metre sq beds ââ?¬â?? 1 for Potatoes, 1 for Asparagus, and one for another perennial (suggestions welcome)

2 x 1 metre by 2 metre beds, one for Brassicas and one for other bits a pieces.

I also have space to do some Tomatoes, Peppers, and Strawberries, these will be in containers.

Lastly, I have some berry canes, can these also be re-potted into larger ones rather than going in the ground?

Again thanks for the advice up front.

    see http://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profiles1200/crop_rotation.asp
the idea of raised gardening is to increase yield per sq metre and reduce digging etc
strawberry beds and asparagus beds are permanent features and do not need rotation [within reason]
i d tend to have two beds of largest size and two half size for your vegetable crops
the tomatoes and peppers may do best in a frame/greenhouse
fruit bushes and trees are permanent and can be sited for landscaping purposes, they need fertile soils not necessarily raised beds, they will be top dressed every year

Is a 1sqm bed big enough for spuds? I think my one bag of seed pots take about three times that space.
