    Hi

I have a redblood acer in a pot on the patio at the moment. Up to now it has been fine and grown well but the leaves are starting to look a little bit withered.

Am I right in thinking that they like acid soil?
I have a bag of that in the shed maybe that will do the trick.

Meanwhile I have moved it to not such an exposed place.

Yes, this acer definitely likes acid soil. But I would think that maybe it was the sun making it wither, if you've moved it to a more shady place that will help. Try using an ericacious feed for watering rather than changing the compost.

mine has been wilting like crazy this year, I gave it lots of feed and re-potted it and it's now got lots of nice big new leaves on it (though the old ones are still wilting!)
