I have taken many photographs with my camera.
Many I have posted on the competitions on here.
Not very good but I'm still a learner and like to have a go. [IMG]
It's only a cheap Kodak easy Share C340 5 mp
    Cost £60 off ebay.
I am now looking for a better camera to take nature ,still life and also family holiday snaps.
I would like a much better Zoom and more mp.
I can go upto about £300 but I havn't got a clue what to go for.
    Any ideas please.

and a Zoom lens x 12 equal to 36mm to 432mm which I use for wildlife shots. At the end of the day Its purely a personal choice .I purchased mine off of EBay ,Which ever one you decide to get,If you are getting your new one off of EBay ,have a try of It in a shop first to see If you like the feel of It.Hope this Is of some help. I use a Canon ixus 60. Very compact and takes excelent photos, long and short distance should be able to buy one for £230.

if your looking at non compacts then the panasonic lumix is worth a look.

Similar to WOO's I have a Panasonic Lumix fz7(12x zoom) bought new from ebay just under Ã?£200 with a 2gb memory card thrown in, it's inbetween a point and shoot cheapie and an SLR and refered to as a 'bridge' camera. Excellent pics but not quite small enough for one's pocket but doesn't need a big bag or extra lenses. [IMG]

After having a look around I have decided on the Panasonic FZ8.
The prices for this vary so much from place to place.
As high as £299 I have sent for one off the internet £144 + P&P.

I saw one on the Comet web site £199.
Went to the shop asking if they had it in stock , the answer was yes but from the shop it was £229.
They wouldn't match the web price but offered £10 discount.

Anyway I'll let you no how it goes.
Not sure when I'll get it with the postal strikes .
Not sure how it will be sent.
    Thanks for all your help.
    It was very confusing. [IMG]

Glad you have made your choice Lyn, most of us who have bought new cameras recently have been very pleased with them. Does it come with a memory card? large ones have come down in price, you may want a 1 or 2gb. [IMG]

Lyn and Strongyloden I didnt get memory cards with either of my cameras but i did buy 2gb memory cards and also to consider battery charger and re-chargable batteries are a must as normal batteries dont last very long in the cameras.
