My large black aeonium is not doing very well. It has been used in the past for various cuttings for friends and now it looks very poorly. The rosettes on the stems which have previously been cut are just not growing. They are very small. It's quite an old plant. Should I cut the whole thing up and make new plants from the cuttings?

    Thanks. GF.

Is there any chance of a photo, it may make the decision to do with it a bit easier. If you are uncertain if it will survive then to take a cutting is a good idea.

    Hope this Helps!

I'm just guessing, but I would say leave it alone.

I find they grow best in early spring and autumn.

    Where is the plant?

I'm not sure but I think in warm or hot climates they are winter growers, so when its at its best colour in summer, its actually not growing, or only very slowly.

Cooler temps in autumn and it turns greener, thats when its growing.

Thats how I see it anyway.
