    Hi

I'm a very novice gardener - I have a couple of shrubs like the one below that appear to be ailing - brown leaves etc. They were fine last summer - any tips on what I can do here?

Do I / should I remove all the dead leaves by hand?

    Thanks!

Looks like a box moth caterpillar problem. .
There are treatments but I've given up.

It looks like box blight. I think there are different types and they're difficult to treat. You could cut the affected stems away and treat it with a fungiside but I'm not sure if it can ever be irradicated completely.
