My son and I have decided we want to get an allotment between us so we can grow some veg and things. There are none in my authority but my sons which is next door has a plot available practically next door to him but its an un used plot so will have to be completely dug over and started from scratch. The plt is 300 sq feet (15 x 20 feet?) are we aiming too high??

Hi l-g. Sounds to me like a perfect place to start. OK, so you`ll have to work it, but in some ways I think that makes it all the more rewarding. That`s actually quite small as plots go, just wait....you`ll be wanting more ! ;) Cheers...freddy.

I bet you Ã?£1 that everyone on GC thinks 'No'. In fact once you get the bug you'll be aiming too low. :D Just take it steady, do a little at a time and if you really are lazy, make your son do all the work. [IMG]

L-G, get the allotment, you will have the time of your life. I had one for over 13 years and it was brilliant. Not just the gardening but the socialising as well.

Go for it! If you have a couple of hours a week between you, you'll more than cope.

    Best of British with it...
