    hi i am doing some work in the garden and found what is having a free meal we have baby slugs and snails all over our plants what should we do ? thanks for your help and advice

    Pick off and dispose of as you go.

      thanks for your reply but as they are babys there would be eggs in the soil ?? not knowing these beasties at all as first time gardener thanks

        There probably are eggs in the soil, just dispose of the small slugs and snails as you go. Hoeing/raking the soil gently may bring some of the eggs to the surface where they will dry out or be eaten by birds etc.

            Thanks for the reply.. When should I replant due to eggs. Of. Bugs I can't let birds in as veg and flowers are netted. Due to cats

            Some slug and snail damage will always happen.
            Just something we have to live with.

            I use the socalled organic pellets if things get really out of control, but mostly during dry weather the problem is bearable.

              You cannot avoid the eggs, they will keep on laying them.
              You can replant when you have harvested the current crop, if you have something to plant.
              As Pete says; you will always have some damage, most plants will tolerate some damage once they are established. Slugs and snails are less of a problem in dry conditions.

                i do use organic pellets and even slug trap and copper tape its a shame that this is what is eating our plants
