    Hi all,

I've got about 6 Aloe plants growing happily on my windowsill - pure luck actually as I normally kill indoor plants - but recently I've noticed tiny weeny black flies on them.

I have got insect spray (for roses etc) but because they are Aloe plants I'm really dubious about spraying these toxic chemicals all over them!

Does anyone know what these little flies are and if there's any natural way to repel the blighters???

    Thanks in advance

    Lisa

    Hi aquarian3

I haven't really got any idea what they are without seeing them but do the flies remain on them or do they fly about a lot? If they fly about a lot they could be from the vinegar fly family. People quite often get those in kitchens.

If they remain stationary on the plant do they clump in groups? Then they are more likely to be blackfly.

Can you try and photograph them? Very difficult if they are so small. [IMG] [IMG]
