Would like to turn one of my greenhouses in to an Alpine bed.

What can you suggest for the bench.

I do have hand made wooden benches already.

Usually sand beds are used and pots sunk into them. I am about to make a raised Alpine bed, when we have some good weather for me to order some top soil.

Scotkat I will be using an old raised fish pond, and will raise the soil level above the top because the water table is level with the edging that was around the pool. It is about 10 inches above the surrounding garden and the water has been just on the garden this last few weeks. It has now soaked away used to go a lot faster but the land drains are now blocked with soil.
Already have a small collection of plants and seeds in pots for planting.
