First off, apologies if people think this is in the wrong section!

I'm thinking of getting a pop up gazebo (the frame expands into the structure rather than having separate poles to slot together) and am pondering whether aluminium or coated steel framed would be the way to go? Which would be stronger / more rigid? Weight isn't an issue as it will only be used in the back garden.

    Any thoughts?

Anyone bought a gazebo like this and have any experience of them they'd care to share? Pretty please?

My initial thought was that steel will rust, so will need a re-painting regime, but maybe it is powder-coated? Does that last forever, or does it get chipped and let rust start forming etc? Dunno on that point ...

I would expect Aluminium to be lighter than Steel, and Steel to be stronger - but its possible to skimp on materials in either case, and wind up with something weak :(

And I suppose Steel is cheaper than Aluminium
