A personal rant, I get hacked off when I tell people I have never seen a soap(no never) or a so-called reality show or an audition/eviction and tears show and they don't believe me, particularly the soaps. It seems I am supposed to because everybody else does. It is not snobbery just selective viewing but it seems that I am the only one.

Not at all Strongy! Couldn't name a soap character if I wanted to! Much prefer a little more intellectual stimulation such as QI or Have I Got News... Have to try hard at work to avoid those terrible daytime 'I married my tortoise' shows!

Must admit to liking the Simpsons, but it works on so many levels! :D

I gave up watching TV even before I discovered the internet.

There are so many other things to do with my time to waste any sat in front of the goggle box, I rarely see 4 or 5 hours TV in a year, I don't feel I'm missing anything, I never saw any before I was 15 or 16, we could not receive TV in Dorset then (late 1940s - early 50s) so maybe that has something to do with it.

So it's not just me then, good to know there are others who don't sit in front of a TV all or most of the time.

Well, I have my TV on from the moment I get up till I go to bed but to be honest, I very rarely actually watch it! The only soap I watch (with half an eye) is Corrie and I avoid all those pernicious reality shows like the plague. (Though I did watch the very first Soap Star Celebrity Star (or what ever it was) but only because it featured folk from Corrie!)

Other than that I catch a few docs and Star Treks and stuff. Mostly it's just dead boring these days.

Hi Strong, are you saying you don't watch the idiot box at all? Or just not soaps? I don't watch the "Soaps". what about Horizon or Panorama? Always worth a peep. KOTV if you're interested in Boxing. Do what I do. When the MBH is watching the "Soaps", video what you want and in the meantime go and play on the 'net, you can always catch up on your stuff later [IMG]

I don't watch any of the soaps but like any reasonably good Gardening Programmes,Spring Watch,Autumn Watch,Johnny Kingdom's Exmoor Programmes,Documentories like the one last night about the sinking of the Lusitania and the Titanic exploration programmes.I also like some of the Royal Family Docu's but only if they are on about Princess Diana and I am one of those sad people who likes watching Richard and Judy and Deal or No Deal when time allows. So I am just a boring old fxxxt, whos isn't the least bit interested in the soaps or the Simpsons.I used to watch HeartBeat without fail, but got bored with their lack of imagination in the story lines so only watched it in the end for the scenery [IMG]

I used to watch Corrie and the Ausie soaps but that was about 20 years ago pre kids and garden. I do like to watch the box in the evenings for a while though, I like CSI,Law and Order and Bones. A bit gory sometimes but I like it. [IMG]

I'm not a TV fan. I watch the news, specials /documentaries and occasionally watch something when I go to bed, but that's usually foresic science or psychic programmes.

In the winter we used to watch movies on a Sunday afternoon ... but my photography jaunts put an end to that!
