    Hi All

I planted my Amaryllis (var. Naughty Lady) about last November, she was growing well towards Chistmas and eventually budded with 4 lovely flower heads, I kept her moist and fed and sitting in the reasonable warmth of our kitchen. After only a week or two of being open the petals started to go very limp and wet and eventually they dropped off .... never was sure why ??
Anyhow, the main stem remained in tact and then a strange buldge started to grow from the stamen of one of the ex-flower heads ?? The budge had grown now to about 1-1/2" diameter, its as if it was a seed pod but surely Amaryllis don't develop seeds ??
Any help would be appreciated before this buldge bursts :dh:

    Regards
    John

Yes they do John, let them dry on the plant you can then plant them in seed compost barely covering them keep them moist,it will take 3-5 years before they flower and they don't always come true from seed.

Thanks Walnut, i'll take your advice and wait for the pod to start drying out or bursting, not sure I could wait around for 5 years to see it potentially flower though :hehe:

    Regards
    John
