    Hi,

Just tried to place an order on Amazon, the first for a year or more; had no choice as the brand we wanted is only available in the uk via them.

Was aware from tv comments of the built in traps for Prime and went though the menus carefully but when we got to the last one before the confirm page, we just could not see any way out of not being given Prime or a box to say No Prime, so we aborted the order.

Just wondered if anyone knows of a fail safe way to order without being conned into Prime ?

Well I bought my shredder from someone who was not on Amazon and it was £25 cheaper, so look around, Amazon is not that great.

Oh we did !! for ages before going to Amazon,

Seems the only other seller with stock was one called Miscota (?) but they seem to operate in many countries and could not find out anything about them ? hence Amazon. :frown:
Miscota, your shop with products for pets

If that happens, immediately try contacting Amazon via chat and get them to place the order without opting for Prime.

Well I ordered something about 2 months ago from amazon, normally on the check out page it try to get you to sign up with Amazon Prime free trial. On the last order I must of missed it and signed up for Prime, I noticed £7.99 had been taken from my bank account. So I went into my amazon account and cancelled it, seen as I haven't used it at all since the beginning of the month I got a full refund . Its not the first time I've done this as well and got a full refund. No need to ring them up etc its quite quick and easy

                Hi,

With @wiseowl s suggestions in mind we tried again but this time there was a few noticeable differences to the screens as we ordered and when getting to that same one as last night the options were clear and we could proceed with the No Prime option.

So job done, at last ! :) :old:

                thanks all.

Just joined one month free trial for Amazon Prime ,will cancel in the time limit.
As it’s free just so I can look around the site to see what all the fuss is about and specially to watch the premier league football Liverpool v Everton ....Man.Utd v Spurs on tonight.
I certainly will not be paying for anything........there is lots of free stuff to watch and free music.
Just bought a new pond pump on amazon and of course free postage.
This is not a long term thing.........just a December project.

It is all to do with the Delivery options that you choose when completing the order. If you go for the One day option, then you get offered the Prime thing. If you go for the Standard delivery one, you don't. Obviously you then have to wait for delivery rather than getting it the following day.

I like the Amazon 'pick up' lockers in supermarkets - no waiting in for the goods to arrive. It's just a shame that not all sellers use the lockers. The other positive is that you can return an item to the shop that has a locker - so no pfaffing about with packing up or postage.

Yes, they can on occasion be more expensive - but then I balance this against convenience.

I think you are only allowed one free month trial on Amazon - to stop people ordering stuff constantly on a free trial basis.

Mind you Prime membership also includes access to music and video streaming services - in addition to the 'free' next day delivery.

Just keep creating new accounts! You'll also get get offers such 'top up £30, get £10 extra free' on each one. Buying a few items then leaving it dormant normally helps (same with multiple ebay accounts).
