It's changed completely pete, mostly for the better. The only backwards step for me is what they have done with the veg growing areas. They used to have a large traditional style allotment with everything in neat rows. That has been grassed over and now they have a new area called a world food garden, a mish mash of plants jumbled together in raised beds. The traditional veggies are dotted inbetween more exotic things and actually they have little variety, currently it's mostly broad bean seedlings. I guess it's to appeal to modern families with limited growing space.

 

Yes - the grand new entrance looks nice for 2 weeks in the spring as the blossom distracts from the loose gravel that gets kicked all over and walked into the building. After the blossom finishes there is no colour for the rest of the year - they must have paid some posh designer a lot of money to come up with that idea ...
