Makes me so angry to see this Steve. The irrevocable damage it can do to a young girl's mind.

Indeed Jenny, but I think it's not restricted to young girls anymore, but both sex's and all ages too.

Its why I like to keep my edits to a very few only, usually no more than two and mostly just one or none. This keeps it realistic and what I saw as opposed to the travesty in my first post above.

The bloomin real annoying thing about the little film is that the girl is very pretty anyway, and did not need all that after preening !

      Steve...:)

Hey look, they made a barbie doll.

Airbrushing, changing images is no new thing, it's happened for decades. Not saying I agree with it and surely a lot of women, girls, boys and men recognise the tricks played on them by the fashion industry. A very sick industry as far as I can tell, which has the potential to affect peoples lives badly

I saw this video a while ago on Facebook...it is crazy that they can do that in the first place. It makes you not trust a photograph, any photograph as real. Not to be a downer but so many things around us are illusions. I grew up in Southern Calif. Image there is everything, being thin, beautiful, wealthy. What about just being Happy? It's who you know and what you drive...it's sad really. I'm so happy that my parents moved to Washington State. When I visit there old friends tell me "your so real" whatever that mean!? They live with so much pressure to fit an image, a lifestyle. And it costs a lot to live there...well...I feel much better having gotten that off my chest...(smile)

Its one of the issues I have long had with photography and editing, a photograph is just that, a memory of the moment you pressed the shutter button. An Image is an overly edited photo such as the above. Yes skies and/or backgrounds have long since been spliced into images to make them appealing in magazines etc..but all this stretching and bloating, thinning down etc is just too much.

            Steve...:)

The whole point of photography always used to be that it was your skill as a photographer in choosing the subject and lighting and settings on the camera that made a good pic.

Now you can make anything look good.

They can have a go at air brushing me, might take a bit of time as i'm a ugly git, that's if i don't crack the camera lens first

One must not talk about one's self in a negative way

If you mean which class I picked up that tidbit in, it was a women cultural heritage course. Late 1800s early 1900s, I didn't realize how much I didn't know is history about women's contributions and hurdles . If women today worked as hard against less than those women did against more we would see some earth shaking changes. I was working on my associates degree when I was trying that course. Now I wish I would have taken the botany courses...(smile).

It could do irrevocable damage to a middle aged man's mind too. I'm going to have nightmares about that. They took a perfectly good woman, and turned her into some sort of mutant monster. When they stretched her neck and I actually felt slight nauseous.
