I was checking my garlic for the appearance of these "scrapes" freddie was talking about (no sign yet), but noticed that quite a few of the bulbs have missing chunks of "paper", (I don't know what the correct term is - the stuff that holds the cloves together in a bulb) leaving the cloves exposed. I thought they were all growing well up to now. There's very little sign of the leaves yellowing yet so I guess they're not yet ripe but some of the bulbs do look vulnerable. Should I pull them up now?

Leave things alone, you have a few more months to go yet.
