His name is Shadow, he is a Siberian Husky aged five. We have only had him about six months or so, he came to us in a not very good state. We thought he was a browny colour at first, then my hubby and I gave him a bath as he didn't smell to good and he came up this lovely colour. He has settled in quite well with our other two dogs. We can't let him of the lead though, he just takes off and heads for the horizon, doesn't even look back. He does come back (eventually)!! Too dangerous though. We have a harness for him and he loves to go out for a run pulling my hubby on his bike. I will try and get some pics of the two of them. Am I boring you all now? [IMG]

Definitely NOT. So he is a Siberian husky? He is identical to my NDNs akita. But he is definitely the most handsome boy I have ever seen (after Ed of course - don't want him getting jealous). Know how you feel about letting off the lead. Before Ed I had two border collies, William and Susie.

We came up to Brechin for a long weekend. I could always let Susie just run behind me, but William was easily distracted so we kept him on the lead when out. However we went for a wander up Glen Esk, and, with no distractions, decided that William could have a 'sniff around'. We went over a small mound and, in the distance, was a herd of deer. William must have had a very good sense of direction because 2 hours later he came back to the car looking more sheepish than sheepdogish.

Needless to say he was only allowed off lead in the garden at home from then on.

We see that now and then over here - people "walking" their dogs on bikes.

I've even seen that some of them had special metal "doodads" (like some sort of metal rod) attached to their bikes to keep the leads from getting tangled with with the bike or rider.

This is obviously only for medium-sized to large dogs who can keep up. For small ones there are baskets (some with wire meshes over them) to attach to the handlebars for the wee ones to ride in.
