Some of my Anemone have set seed and I would like to maybe grow some more from these seeds.
Has anybody any hints or tips on how I should proceed ?

    Hi Capney.

I have never grown Anemones from seed myself. All I can do is to quote from the RHS seed germination guide, which says - 10C to 13C, lightly cover seeds, could take up to a year to germinate.

But I have just had a Google, and found this http://tomclothier.hort.net/page02.html which looks to be a very good site. The RHS instructions refer to the genus as a whole, but this site has a more detail at species level.

    Which Anemone are they from?

But I think you can take all suggestions with a pinch of salt. On that site I have just looked up Echium russicum (the subject of another thread). It said max 5C, germination irregular, often several months. I have just sowed a second batch of these at 20C and they all germinated within about 5 days. - so you never know really. Best of luck.

    Thanks Peter for the info
Looks as if it could be a hit or miss affair, but worth a try anyhow.
Nothing ventured...nothing gained, as they say.
I shall post updates on progress, but dont hold your breath !!!
