On our way back from Somerset at the weekend we visited this National Trust property in Cambridgeshire. It is renowned for its winter garden which was stunning and although it was full of visitors we enjoyed our stop.

Their winter garden is always lovely and well worth a visit. They have lots of highly scented plants as well.

One of the gardeners there told me that they keep those Jackmanii trees so white by washing the trunks lightly with detergent.

    Lovely photos Petal

Shiney,Mr Kandy insisted on planting three of those Jackmanii Birch trees because he saw the ones that Alan Titchmarsh had in his garden and promised me he would go out every day and scrub the trunks to keep them pristine and white [IMG]

All he has done is taken off the bark when it starts peeling, and put a piece of netting round the trunk of the naerest one because our cats had started using it as a scratching post and ruined the look of them.Housework has never been his thing. [IMG] :D

We joined the NT last year and visited Stourhead and Westonbirt, both we amazing places. If we are in Cambridgeshire sometime we will definitely visit Anglesea. [IMG]
