Well here I am again after my successful experts identified a plant for me but this one is really strange. It looks like cabbage leaves and yet there is a yellow rose looking flower growing out of it and I have absolutely no idea where it came from..I think it was freebie from somewhere!!

Where are you growing it? If it is outside the you will need to dig it up at the end of the season before the frost, dry off the corm and keep it for next year. It would be worth it as it looks a nice variety.

Well krafty, what I do is, about this time of the year I lift the plant, if its outside, with a bit of a root ball and put it somewhere like a greenhouse or frame where it can dry out.
Some of the stem can be removed at this stage if its really big but its best left if you can. As the leaves start to wilt and die, I cut them off with the stalk to the main stem, eventually your left with a tuber and a fleshy stem.
At this stage I like to wait until the stem falls away from the tuber on its own accord, which can take a few weeks.
Once that happens you need to store the tuber dry and in a cool place frost free but very cool, not in the house, unless you have an unheated cellar or similar.
