Fascinated by the churches that @Zigs has been posting, I thought that I would post some photos of a typical church here. As you will see, they are quite different. This one was built in 1861.

This first photo shows the walk through the graveyard looking towards the church itself...

    ...another view of the churchyard...

    ...and the Garden of Remembrance...

Looking at how neat the place is, its hard to believe that this particular church has a major problem with wild boars foraging for food! Finally, the church itself...

      Lovely Sandy :)

      Very well kept graveyard :)

There are a few wild boar in Dorset, but the panthers seem to keep them in check.

we have so many churches in our wee little town. was thinking one day to start visiting each one, each Sunday. Then doing a blog about each one. Like friendliness, singing, asking for money, comfort seating, and who knows what else.

To give some sort of idea about the Wild Boar problem. On the road that runs past the church, there are well over 100 accidents each year involving boars and cars! I think that I am correct in saying that they are the only animal in Sweden that can be hunted all year round.

Shrewsbury in Shropshire seems to have a Church in every street......but they have obviously kept the Vicar in mind as there is always a Pub on the opposite side.:snorky:

                If I may join in.

I have dozens of pictures of different types of churches. Here are just a few.

This isn't a church but people used to pray outside of it.

This is not really recognised by the church but not condemned by them. It is recognised by the government as a place of worship.

Salvador in Brazil is said to have 365 churches (one for every day of the year) but I haven't counted them all :)
