It's because it got cold and then warmed up again, lulled things into thinking we'd had winter already:doh:

We've got daffodils sprouting in the flower beds at work, and in my front garden I have a nasturtium that has sprouted from a seed that dropped out of the hanging baskets

A lot of my bulbs have sprouted , about 1" is showing . Will they be OK when we get the inevitable cold snap of around -3°c ? or should I protect them with a mulch ?

@longk , the Tulips and Daffs aren't showing , so its Alliums and Crocus . First time I have grown alliums so I don't know how tough they are if we have a hard frost ?

The Crocus will walk it! The Allium (depending on the species) should be ok too, although some of the less common forms dislike long periods of cold wet weather (so I'm told).
