Hi so we've had a bit of ground in front of our house for 20 years and we try to keep it under control and even get a bit giddy some times I weed a bit or even plant something but to be frank we havent a clue. But as kids are growing up it seems theres some chance we will be able to give it a little time and attension so need some help ideas and inspiration.

Garden faces South east with a small section of beds that run behind the house and are in almost complete shade all day, all year round. Any knowledge we can glean from anyone is going to be a big step forward.

Thanks in advance to anyone who is willig to be patient with us!

Welcome to Gardeners Corner Peter. :)

If there is something that gardeners need it's patience, so you're in good hands here. Take a look around and ask some questions along the way, we're always happy to help and give advice.

A warm welcome to our friendly forum Peter, I'm sure you will get far more ideas here to deal with those tricky shady areas than you imagine. It's amazing how inspired and confident you can start feeling about your garden when you know you have a forum of kind and knowledgeable members to support you. :blue thumb:

Apologies if you've already looked at these RHS pages, but if you haven't there seem to be some great suggestions to get you started. :)
