Another House Plant Question

    the above plant is looking worse for wear and i dont know why, i`ve had it years but the new leaves dont seem to grow very big compared to when i had it, any advise on care would be great i water it like every 2 weeks and thats it, thanks in advance.... :lollol:

    If the plant has been living in the same pot for years Scooby-Mas, and not getting fed, it will be starving. That's why the leaves are getting smaller and look quite yellow too.
    I would repot it into a bigger pot with fresh compost and set up a regular feeding routine with some liquid feed. You'll soon see the difference.

    does any one know what plant this is? so i can look it up, its watered every week but may be i should`nt and if i repot it into a larger pot would that help? thanks...

    Howea (Kentia) Forsteriana, Palour Palm originally from Lord Howe Island, Australia. It can grow to 18 meters in the sub tropics but normally 2/3 metres (given plenty of room) indoors.:)

    so if i was to put it in a bigger pot, would noraml compost be ok? or should i use something else? thanks.... :gnthb:

    Scooby,
    I would suggest John Innes no2 potting compost (available at most GC's) .
    This is more substaintial than multipurpose or JI no1 but only a minimal loam content.
    Indoor palms in pots should be kept damp in summer (not wet) and let them dry out just a little in winter.
