Leaves might help, and some indication of size too. Frustrating 'cos I know it, but ..........

Meadowsweet, filipendula, spirea? don't know the right name but the wild one smells lovely, trying to get it to grow in my garden from seed collected last year.
As Palustris says leaves would help.

Sorry, but it's in a very awdward position, and I cam't get a shot of the whole plant. It has a long thin wiry stem, with a few leaves at the bottom. I did pick a leaf, as shown here; it's about 2inches long.
My first thought was Meadowsweet, but the shape of the flower head doesn't seem quite right, and there's not a trace of scent. [IMG]

Something crataegus? leaves still look a bit too serrated.

[IMG] Sorry Kandy........but was absent last week.
It's funny how a common plant sometimes passes you by.
I have just noticed in Laurie's pic at the top of this page.....in the background...Lysmachia :D
