I've some M.G. climbing up a little frame but there are so many leaves that I have cut at least 50% off and still I can hardly see the flowers - what few there are. Is this normal. It is the first time I've tried to grow these.

    Picture.......

Where they are situated the soil isn't particularly good. I started them by just putting the seed in the ground around about April time.

    Thanks in advance.

Edit: Oh should have said the frame is about 7feet high.

Hi Kryssy, I'm just having a stab at your question - why don't you try feeding with a high potassium fertiliser? Such as tomato feed. As long as the fertiliser is low in nitrogen, anyhow.
    Hope this makes some sense.
    Love fromm Royster

Wow Roders! That's a great display! Is that all this year's growth?
I have a poor show of about 12" of spindly growth on mine. I started them off in a propagator then put them outside in early may :(

Sorry you got diddy ones, Mef. I got big ones but they are not much good. So you see, size just doesn't matter in some circumstances.

It's nice to see how they should look. I'll try feeding them as Royster suggested. In the meantime will just keep snipping away at the leaves.
