    Hi everyone

yet another new member in Croydon Surrey. I to decide to rent a plot from my local council, which I have to say is very small and not sure if I will be able to grow all the fruit and veg I had hoped to but on the bright side as I am new to this it will ease me into the swing of things.

Hello, PercyT, and welcome to GC. There are quite a lot of fruit and veggie gardeners here who I am sure will give you lots of encouragement.

Hi PercyT and welcome. Amazing what you can grow in even a small plot, and as you say it will be easier to cope with in the beginning. What size is it?

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement [IMG]

Well think its about 20ft by 35ft blackthorn will measure it tomorrow, always thought that an allotment was bigger somehow, I have watched lots of programmes on gardening and allotments have shed and greenhouses etc, if I put either of these on my allotment there would not be much room for anything else!! or maybe its just my inexperience.

    Guess away Dendrobium

cheers for all the nice thoughts

    Hi Fancy

I have done one for PM re increasing number of allotments. not one to save allotments can you direct me a little not used to forums, soz bit of a novice at all things.

Mind you wish I had more interest in allotments a couple of years ago might have helped to save site in our area which has now been bulldozed for housing.

Percy, Look in the eddible gardening thread for voting!!!!!!!!!!
yes I know what you mean in london Ken Livingston patch he is going to turn an allotment into a car park. think its aweful very soon we will not have any green areas for wildlife to thrieve.
we have just had 14 new allotment owners on our site. 4 of them are young families.
