I bought a beautiful Anthurium and the flowers are rare dark burgundy in color... Its kept indoors in the living room and I water it once a week to keep the soil/compost moist but not too wet. the plant is kept away from direct light and is closer to radiator so it doesnt get too cold.
The plant was fine for 3 weeks but in couple of weeks suddenly the leaves have started to dry out and is getting brown patches which strangely begin at the middle of the leaf and get bigger. The old flowers have split in the middle and the new flowers (2) which have come out are also lighter in shade. I can tell its growing as its continuously putting out new leaves but all the baby leaves are again drying up from inside out!
Any suggestions about whats going on and what can I do to prevent leaves from dying... I ave noticed new roots have started to come out from the stems which are not touching the soil. Is it time to split it and put in bigger pot?
    I have attached few pics if that helps... IMAG0283-1.jpg IMAG0286-1.jpg IMAG0287-1.jpg IMAG0289.jpg IMAG0290.jpg
