    Are ants a pest?

They seem to be everywhere in our garden, every time I plant anything or dig anything up I seem to disturb an ants nest. :cnfs:

Ants in the garden are only a pest if they farm aphids on your plants or undermine your favourite pot plant. Ants in the lawn might be a pest if they make a really huge nest and it gets scalped when you're cutting your grass very low.

Apart from these situations, I leave ants alone because they're impossible to eradicate completely.

In the home, it's a different matter. I wipe out every single one I find indoors!

If they are nesting in one of my pots then I will try and stop them otherwise its Live & Let Live, they just look unsightly.

:) I meant the anthills can look unsightly in the middle of a lawn NewbieGreen, or when they excavate inbetween paving and bring up mounds of soil.
